We have a magnificent line-up of International athletes this year.

MEN’S HIGHLAND GAMES

SCOTT RIDER – (England) Scott is a formidable athlete –  he has won at Braemar, competed for England at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics and holds the Braemar weight for distance record. Scott, the current World Champion, has become a regular at Carmunnock and we look forward to welcoming him again this year.

LUCAS WENTA – (Poland) Lucas, now living locally in East Kilbride, has won the Polish Junior Shot Putt Championship as well as being a world champion caber tossing champion. He is another regular athlete we look forward to seeing this year.

VLADISLAV TULACEK – (Czechia) An expert with the stone, Vadislaw is a European Champion – let’s see how he does on the Carmunnock field.

STEPHAN SOLVI PETERSSON – (Iceland) – No need for introductions here, Solvi is an already well known Icelandic highland games athlete and strongman, not to mention he is Hafpor’s training partner.

HANS LOLKEMA – (Holland) – Hans is the Dutch Champion and an expert caber thrower – one to watch out for on the day.

KYLE RANDALLS – (Scotland) – We would need to create another website for Kyle’s achievements as an athlete. We are very proud to have him as a part of our Games. ‘Mon Kyle!

NEIL ELLIOT – (Scotland) – Neil is widely regarded as one of the best throwers in the Games circuit – we look forward to seeing Neil’s skills at Carmunnock this year. C’mon Neil!

CIARNAN WRIGHT – (Scotland) – Ciarnan is a young up and coming highland games athlete with a background in Hammer throwing. Sadly there is no hammer at Carmunnock but it will be great to welcome and support Ciarnan in all other events. Gaun yersel Ciarnan!
